Efficient transport operations make perfect sense all round

One of  the areas we pay a lot of attention to is the efficient use of transport. For example, in almost every case lorries taking finished product from our mill to customers run with full loads. It makes sound environmental sense because part loads mean more wagons on the road, full loads mean fewer. It also makes sense for our customers because reduced trasnport costs help keep our sawn timber prices competitive.

Another aspect of this is illustrated by the AW Jenkinson vehicle pictured in our yard this morning loaded with finished product. The vehicle is based locally. It came into our yard this morning with logs from the South West of England and will head back down there on Monday with this load. Perfect!
