Keeping a sawmill like ours running at its peak involves a series of very big investments (see earlier posts about the Solar Panels, the Timber Treatment Centre, The Feather Edge line, the engineering workshop, the new post pointing and incising line etc etc) and even more investments which are rather more modest.
This new grab is a case in point. It’s been produced to our specification to help out with moving heavier items such as posts around the yard. It’s the little brother to the big grab we use to load logs into the sawmill – each of which weighs up to 1½ tons. The new grab didn’t cost a fortune – but it will play its own vital part in keeping our operation one of the most efficient of its kind in the UK.
