…and a tidy sum raised for a very good cause.
One of our Sales Managers, Chris Offa, and his pals from Builth Wells recently completed the Welsh 3 peaks in 13 hours 49 minutes against a target time of 14 hours. The picture shows the group at the top of Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons – the last mountain they climbed. Chris is the one with a red arrow growing out of his head.
“Setting off at 4.22am up Snowdon in heavy rain and thick fog was not an ideal way to start!” says Chris. “Nevertheless, we completed Snowdon in 4 hours 10 minutes over a total distance of 8.6 miles.”
“Next up was Cadair Idris. Conditions were better, it was dry but it was very windy on the final approach to the summit,” he says. “We completed this in 3 hours 8 minutes, total distance 6.1 miles”
“Last up was Pen Y Fan. We arrived here with just under two hours to go, and completed it in 1 hour 33 minutes, over 4 miles in total.”
After all that effort, Chris and his pals are hoping to raise as a group over £5k for the Bracken Trust in Llandrindod Wells. https://brackentrust.org.uk – a cancer support charity that is close to the hearts of the boys from Builth Wells.
Of course, you don’t have to go through all this to help the charity – you can donate by just visiting their web page!
