Ransfords sponsor a number of local sporting and voluntary organisations among them (through our sister company Woodlink Forest Products) Ludlow Cricket Club whose First Team became Shropshire County Cricket League Premier League Champions for only the second time in the club’s history, exactly 25 years after their previous triumph in 1997.
Following a hugely competitive season, the five points secured from their last game saw them hold off a late charge by Whitchurch to win the league by a single point.
To win a Premier League containing bigger clubs like Whitchurch, Oswestry and Wellington was an outstanding achievement for their young side and was particularly pleasing given that more than 80% of the players used over the course of the season have come through the club’s youth set-up. The 2nd and 3rd team also enjoyed solid seasons.
